February 26th Devotion
Mark 13:32-37 (NIV)
32 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. 35 "Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.
36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'"
I read a Bible study recently, where a man claimed that he was one of the Watchers”. Those are the believers who are on their guard and watching for the Lord’s return. That certainly left an impression. It sounded strange, and yet we are all told to watch and be on alert.
I have been anxiously awaiting His return since 1981. One of the things I have learned is watching has caused me to love people more. I realize that I might not
have the time later. Time is after all, running out. We all have family, friends and loved ones, that we wish we had time for. We better have time for them. How sad would it be if they were lost when the Lord returns, because we ran out of time to witness to them?
Be on guard. Be alert and watch. Here He comes.
Love, Pastor Don
