January 7th - John 17: 5 - He Became A Servant

John 17:5 (NIV) 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

He left heaven

He dwelt among us

He became nothing

He became a servant

He became human

He was tempted in every way

He was without sin

He exchanged his glory in heaven with these things. He didn’t have to, but he did. What would you give up to have these things? Who would you give it up for? We have a very loving God. Glory to His name.

John 1:14 (NIV) The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Philippians 2:5-7 (NIV) 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

Hebrews 4:15 (NIV) 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin.
