Salvation - Second Advent

Isaiah 49:6 (NIV)
6 he says: "It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth."

Too small a thing. Not enough to simply save those of Israel, but God is sending Jesus back to bring His salvation to the world.

When I was younger, my father taught me to look out for number one. When it came down to it, a person must save themselves. He did include a small portion of his family, but that was the extent of it. He once said that he could count the people he trusted, on one hand, and then noted that his mother, 5 brothers and sisters, wife and two children totaled more than five.

God, on the other hand, would have it that all would be saved. Even though He loved Israel, He included each and every one in His plan for salvation. When Jesus returns, he will bring salvation with Him.

What is your attitude about this salvation? Are you like my father who only looked out for “me and mine”, or like your Father in heaven, who would have none perish?

My father would sacrifice for precious few. My heavenly Father sacrificed for one and all. Who are you willing to sacrifice for?

Love, Pastor Don
