Mission of the Church
I have been thinking about the mission of the church lately. It is always on my mind, but it has been more so recently. I have been thinking about increasing my own involvement in sponsoring the mission work of our church. I don’t exactly know how to do this and I am praying that the Lord gives me direction. The Japan missions has some younger pastors that are breaking new ground, and needs our support. Dave and Diana Kelewae are working on a project that could be of a great benefit for Brother Fortuna in Haiti. Jessica Mills is involved in a mission trip now. Of course, we have several ministries in Baden, but we could use some help too.
Having said that, I am asking you to pray about being more involved in our work. I am not saying this to people at Baden, but to everyone who gets our bulletin. This is not about money. We do need more funds, but this is about people who need the Lord.
One quick story. Raymond is a young man that used to attend the church. Right now, his mother and two brothers are both in jail. Raymond recently got out of jail. We love these boys and their mother, but one of the boys stole a car during a worship service. As a result, none of them come to church. These boys need all of our prayers. People that are not directly connected to the church may be able to pray more effectively, since you were not involved in the theft.
One thing that I plan, is to begin a newsletter writing about our outreaches and missions. It is my prayer that with a greater knowledge, the saints will know what our needs are. Pray for Baden.
Love – Pastor Don
